Kanye West has been steering culture towards Jesus for several months now with his Sunday Services. Justin Bieber is another megastar who has been using his enormous platform to point people towards God, and he continued this wonderful trend by posting another guided prayer to social media.
The prayer is led by Judah Smith, one of Bieber’s pastors who hails from Seattle.
“Good morning, here is a guided prayer to start your day,” Bieber captioned the first video. “Find a comfy position and enjoy.”
The contemplative prayer begins with Romans 8:38, which reads:
“God, we thank you for your love that is so extensive, so extraordinary and unconditional towards us,” Smith begins, before urging listeners to repeat three simple Biblical truths:
1. “Nothing will ever separate me from God’s love.”
2. “Nothing is more powerful than God’s love for me.”
3. “Nothing compares to being loved by God.”
Smith goes on to encourage listeners “to sink into the reality of God’s love” and take deep breaths while meditating on the endless love of Christ.
“God, thank you we are loved. We are loved not because of our own doing, our own earning or deserving.. but because of who you are. You are love and you love us unconditionally and endlessly,” Smith prays.
“And we thank you for that.”
Smith goes on to declare that “God is the greatest artist of all time,” and urges listeners to put their hands in the air and “join with all the created beings, and all of the creation itself in glorifying and honoring the creator..”
“In truth, we are doing the very thing we were created to do,” he said of adopting the worshipful posture.
Smith concludes: “God, we thank you right now. It is our privilege and our honor to think about you, to acknowledge you and to worship you in this moment. You are big, you are wonderful, you are powerful. You are awe-inspiring. In truth, you are beyond our description. We love being loved by you. And we love you because you first loved us. Thank you, God. Amen.”
Contemplative prayer, often called “Centering Prayer,” is an ancient Christian practice designed to help believers connect with their God in the quiet place. Sadly, the secular mindfulness and meditation popular in our modern culture has borrowed from this ancient Christian practice and, in many cases, stripped it of its spiritual meaning.
‘Fast and Furious’ actor Lucas Black says role in new Christian film was an answer to prayer
Hollywood actor Lucas Black, who’s best known for his roles in “The Fast and The Furious” franchise and “NCIS: New Orleans,” took a break from his roles in mainstream entertainment three years ago and said his latest role in a new Pure Flix film was an answer to prayer.
Black is the star of the new family-friendly film “Legacy Peak,” now streaming exclusively on Pure Flix.
In 2019, Black finished working on “NCIS: New Orleans” after 125 episodes when he made the decision to leave the series “to spend more time with family” and connect with his “Heavenly Father.”
“There were plenty of days where I would go to work and they would still be asleep, and I would come home and they’d be already in bed,” Black told The Christian Post. “The first three seasons … I’d be working 70 hours a week. I’m just fortunate throughout my career, I’ve recognized that that kind of schedule and the way the entertainment business is run, and a lot of temptations that come with it, can be really destructive to families’ lives and your relationship with others.
“It takes a lot of discipline, a lot of godly people around you to hold you accountable,” he added.
Those concerns were some of the reasons why Black decided to step away and take time off to “reflect and rest.” Soon after, he was introduced to this new faith-filled film.
“We were praying what the next step was going to be,” Black said of himself and his wife. “We saw a huge culture shift here in America and for a long time, movies coming out of Hollywood and in entertainment undermined the fatherhood role.”
Their prayers were answered when he attended a homeschool convention and met Pastor Eric Ludy who spoke to Black about the script for “Legacy Peak.”
“I read it, my wife read it, and she comes to me with tears in her eyes and says, ‘I don’t know why you wouldn’t be a part of this project.’” he recalled, explaining why he wanted to take the role. “It’s one that really sheds a good light on fathers. It shows the need for a good earthly father. It shows how we can find our fulfillment and love from our Heavenly Father, and it really is one that’s going to empower the nuclear family, and especially fathers out there.”
“Legacy Peak” is about a man named Jason who “wants nothing more than to have his girlfriend’s kids like him. But when a perfectly planned trip to a mountain cabin falls apart, the ensuing adventure could tear them apart or bring them closer than they ever imagined. Together they’ll discover how to trust again and what it means to be a family,” the synopsis reads.
Black plays Jason and the rest of the cast includes: Todd Terry, Ina Barron, Kyleigh M. Bakker and Roman Engle.
“My character gets to use masculine traits to really protect the innocent, and provide for them and show transparency to connect with the kids in a special way,” Black told.
“I’m super blessed to be a part of it. It was an answered prayer, for me and my family just to have something come to us like this. God orchestrated the whole thing.”
Black didn’t always have such strong Christian convictions, however. Although he was raised in a Christian home where he was taken to church every Sunday, he strayed from the Lord in his 20s, when he was trying to do the Christian walk alone while working in the entertainment industry.
“I really didn’t have a strong spiritual family or godly men that I can do a Bible study with, or do life with that really hold me accountable,” he said.
Early in 2015, Black became intentional about reading the Bible and said he was “convicted by the Holy Spirit” which helped him dedicate himself to God. He eventually became involved in a church and a Men’s Bible study which held him accountable.
“That’s really when my relationship with the Lord took on a whole new level. All the chapters and books about the Holy Spirit really spoke to me,” Black testified. “He is our advocate; He is our helper. I can rely on him in times of trouble or when I’m feeling alone and traveling around. The Lord is with us wherever we go.”
“I’m just thankful He’s always been with me. He never leaves us nor forsakes us, and His grace has just shown abundantly in my life,” “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” star continued.
Films like “Legacy Peak” that have faith and family messages are the type of entertainment Black encourages people to spend time watching. “There’s an attack in our country right now on Christian values, on family values,” Black said. “So, this is kind of our way of battling our culture.”
He added: “I think we need to really focus and be intentional about what we allow to be seen on our screens in our homes for our family. We really need to fight for our families and our children, so we need to be intentional about what’s coming through the television screen, the computer screen and the phone.”
“The more you guys watch stuff like this, the more we’re able to make content like this,” he said. “The message is going to be strong that’s going to empower families and empower Christians and encourage them and uplift them. I just encourage you to go out and see it because we’re fighting this battle together. We got to stand strong in faith and stand strong as Christians and fight for our families.”

‘I’m an atheist y’all’: Britney Spears says she no longer believes in God
Pop superstar Britney Spears is making headlines yet again, this time for declaring that she no longer believes in God.
Spears’ revelation that she no longer believes in God can be heard in a profanity-laced audio recording posted on Instagram and reshared on YouTube Monday after “60 Minutes Australia” aired an interview with her ex-husband, Keven Federline, and their son, Jayden. In the recording, Britney accuses her sons of “being hateful,” “undermining her behavior” and having “secretly loved looking at me as if something was wrong with me.”
“There is nothing to believe in anymore. I’m an atheist, y’all,” Spears said at the end of a three-minute rant to her son, Jayden, where she rattled off a list of financial obligations she took on in her decadeslong career, including paying her mother’s legal fees and sending $40,000 a month to her ex-husband.
In the recording, Spears speaks about her relationship with her sons, Jayden and Sean Preston, her ex-husband, and her sons’ reactions to what she described as the trauma her father and other family members put her through after her music career took off in the late 1990s.
Last November, the singer was released from a conservatorship in which her father, James “Jamie” Spears, had control of her finances, estimated to be around $60 million. A judge awarded him conservatorship in 2008 following Britney’s mental breakdown in which she allegedly contemplated suicide following a custody battle a year earlier when Federline was awarded sole custody of their two sons. That same year, Spears was photographed by paparazzi shaving her head after she left a rehab center in Los Angeles that heightened concerns about her stability at the time.
Spears, now free from the conservatorship, has regained control of her finances, got married for the second time, and last week released her first song in six years. However, according to ITV and a “60 Minutes Australia” interview with Federline and Jayden, the boys haven’t seen their mother in months and declined to attend her star-studded wedding because no one else in the family had been invited.
In the recording in which Spears claimed that if God really existed, she wouldn’t have suffered or lost the autonomy to make her own decisions for 13 years: “God would not [have allowed] that to happen to me if God existed. I don’t believe in God anymore because of the way my children and my family have treated me.”
The “Oops! I did It Again” singer’s newfound atheism runs counter to the faith she previously testified to when she said it was God who had enabled her to make it through the distress of the last 13 years.
In his interview, Jayden said his grandfather “doesn’t deserve all the hatred he’s getting in the media.” He further explained that he and his brother chose not to attend their mother’s wedding to model and actor Sam Ashgari because “she didn’t invite the whole family.” “And then if it was just going to be me and Preston, I just don’t see how that situation would have ended on good terms,” he added.
Spears, who was raised in the Southern Baptist denomination, told a judge during a virtual court hearing over her conservatorship that instead of being subjected to intense therapy multiple times a week, she prefers to talk to God.
The 40 year old said at the time that she wanted to end her conservatorship without having to be psychologically evaluated because other doctors had prescribed strong medications, such as lithium.
Spears said a doctor “illegally … 100% abused me by the treatment he gave me. And to be totally honest with you, when he passed away, I got on my knees and thanked God.”
At the time, she was required to see a therapist and doctor about four times a week: “I don’t feel like I can live a full life. I don’t owe them to go see a man I don’t know and share [with] him my problems. I don’t even believe in therapy. I always think you take it to God.”
The popstar’s declaration might come as a shock to many of her fans because in an Instagram post shared three days ago, Spears mentioned having faith in God.
“I’m a child of God as well; we all are in God’s eyes,” she said.
