Texas A&M campus revival event draws nearly 1,500 students to worship Jesus; 62 baptized

Published

on

A Gospel outreach gathering at the Corpus Christi campus of Texas A&M University last Thursday drew approximately 1,500 attendees, with dozens of students baptized.

New Life Church pastors Michael and Bonnie Fehlauer posted to their joint Facebook account last week a brief report on the campus gathering organized by New Life Young Adults, a ministry of the church also a recognized student organization at the Texas A&M Corpus Christi campus.

New Life Young Adults Pastor Tarik Whitmore told The Christian Post on Tuesday that he preached at the gathering, centering his message on Isaiah 6: the “conviction, cleansing, and commissioning that follows a genuine encounter with God.”

“This was followed by testimonies from students and former students — sharing how God saved them, set them free, healed them physically, and is now using them to change the lives of others,” Whitmore recounted.

“As the altar was opened, there was an invitation given to profess faith in Jesus through water baptism, receive prayer for healing and receive prayer for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.”

According to Whitmore, event organizers witnessed “many touched by the power of God,” which included “spontaneously weeping and trembling,” with some doing so “as they were coming up out of the waters of baptism.”

“The night continued with students and young adults sharing testimonies in real-time of salvation, healing, deliverance, and being filled with the Spirit,” he told CP.

“The night concluded with a commissioning of those who wanted God to use them on their college campus — All declaring, ‘Here I am. Send me!’”

Last September, New Life held a similar gathering on the Corpus Christi campus, with a reported attendance of around 1,000 students and more than 100 being baptized.

When contrasting the two events, Whitmore told CP that he believed the “greatest difference” between the two “was the increase in the activity of the Holy Spirit” compared to last year.

“We saw an increase in physical healings, deliverance, and people receiving a baptism of the Holy Spirit,” he said. “We had many who were baptized last year in attendance. And many who attended last year were leading and serving at this year.”

Last week, days before the Texas A&M gathering, a large group of students, including members of the university’s football team, came together for a revival event at Ohio State University, in which around 60 attendees were baptized.

“It was all Jesus-based, all focused on Him,” said one attendee of the OSU event in an earlier interview with CP. “Person after person came. You could just see the Spirit moving in people. It was different, nothing I’ve ever experienced before.”

Madman’ shoots up home of Pastor Greg Locke with one of his children inside

Published

on

Tennessee Pastor Greg Locke of Global Vision Bible Church in Mount Juliet is praising God for protecting his family after a “madman” allegedly unloaded a barrage of bullets into his home with one of his children inside.

Wilson County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Scott Moore told The Tennessean that the shooting, which is being investigated, resulted in no injuries and they haven’t arrested anyone in connection with the incident. Moore said deputies responded to Locke’s home at around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday and found 30 to 40 shell casings around the house, the garage and a vehicle.

Locke called the security footage of the shooting at his home “truly horrific” in a statement shared on Instagram with photographs of the scene.

“It’s 2:00am and for the last 3 hours our home has been a full blown crime scene. According to the security cam footage, we pulled into our driveway exactly ONE MINUTE after a madman unloaded an entire magazine of bullets from an automatic weapon into our house, garage, and my truck,” Locke said.

“The sound on the video is truly horrific. Detectives will still be here for a good while tonight. Only one of our kids was home and thank God not in the same area of the house. As you can see in the last pics, one of the bullets cut through the headboard of our youngest daughter’s bed and lodged in her pillow.”

He said he and his family had to be escorted to a hotel by security after the shooting and cited Psalm 91 in referencing God’s protection.

“We are all being security escorted to a hotel tonight. We have no further details. The only detail that matters is that Psalm 91 is true, and GOD PROTECTED US IN UNIMAGINABLE AND SUPERNATURAL WAYS,” he noted. “Please pray for the Locke family tonight.”

Locke, who began sharing content on his Facebook page in 2015, became an overnight conservative star after he posted a video on Facebook on April 22, 2016, criticizing Target for its then-new policy of allowing men to enter women’s bathrooms and dressing rooms. He is also well-known for his outspoken opposition to abortion and Planned Parenthood.

In the summer of 2023, months after revealing that he got too involved with politics to the point where it was overshadowing his ministry, Locke, announced that he scrubbed thousands of videos with billions of views from his Facebook page to minimize some of the “collateral damage” they caused.

“We took [down] thousands … of videos, took about three or four days, deleted every one of them,” Locke told his congregation in a Sunday message posted on Facebook. “All of them, all the rants. Not because what I said was wrong, but because when I became a man I put away childish things. And I’ve learned to say things better.”

He then promised that his focus would be on Jesus, and he would stay away from politics.

“I promise you, my word will be for Jesus, not for any candidate. It just won’t. So some of you are going to [have to] get past, or at least if you’re going to stick around, you’re going to have to get past the notion that, because we’re coming into an important year, that I’m about to amp things up,” he said.

“I am, but I’m not amping it up on politics. I’m not. I’ll still spit in the face of Planned Parenthood and call out baby butchers. I’m not going to compromise to the alphabet community,” he added. “I’m [not] going to lay down the sword. I’m just going to be more meticulous and specialize at who we swing it at.”

Christian whistleblower nurse fired from Texas Children’s Hospital talks spiritual war

Published

on

A Christian nurse who claims she was recently terminated from her job at Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) in Houston for exposing alleged Medicaid fraud related to transgender procedures for minors says she sees her situation as part of a spiritual conflict.

“I am a Christian, and my faith is the foundation of everything,” Vanessa Sivadge told The Christian Post. “That’s the reason why I’ve spoken out as I have.”

Sivadge claimed TCH fired her on Aug. 16 for exposing alleged Medicaid fraud at the country’s largest children’s hospital, which she said was using federal funds to cover cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers for minors in violation of Texas law, according to an exclusive statement provided to journalist Christopher Rufo.

Sivadge came forward to Rufo last year to claim TCH was pushing “gender-affirming care” on young patients while ignoring their underlying psychological problems.

Sivadge approached Rufo following his May 2023 story about Dr. Eithan Haim, who leaked medical records suggesting that TCH continued to prescribe puberty blockers for children with gender dysphoria despite claiming otherwise.

The U.S. Department of Justice slapped Haim with four felony counts in June for obtaining “personal information including patient names, treatment codes and the attending physician from Texas Children’s Hospital’s (TCH) electronic system without authorization,” according to a DOJ press release.

Haim and Rufo claim the patient names were redacted from the documents he leaked.

In her most recent statement, Sivadge told Rufo that she requested a religious accommodation at the hospital on May 31 that would have transferred her out of the endocrinology clinic, where she alleges she was forced into “indirect participation in the care of children on cross-sex hormones.”

She asked to be transferred back to her core competency at the cardiology unit, where such ideology was not prevalent.

“This past Friday on August 16, TCH fired me effective immediately,” Sivadge wrote. “This is unlawful for two reasons: it is retaliation for my coming forward with information on TCH’s egregious pattern of deception and Medicaid fraud, and this action also illegally disregarded my request to transfer due to my belief that these procedures bring irreversible harm and lifelong regret to children confused about their sex.”

Sivadge said she doesn’t know Haim and that her situation differs from his because she hasn’t yet faced federal charges, though she noted that federal law enforcement have shown up at her home.

Two weeks after Rufo published Sivadge’s anonymous whistleblowing last year, two FBI agents appeared at her door, according to footage Rufo posted to X in June.

The video shows special agents Paul Nixon and David McBride showing up at Sivadge’s home while sporting blue jeans and telling her they wanted to speak about “some of the things that have been going on at [her] work lately.” They quipped they hoped they were not “interrupting dinner.”

Sivadge told CP she never could have imagined that the federal government would ever go after her, and she believes federal law enforcement has been politically weaponized.

“I never thought that [my identity] would come to light, and that I would be ultimately visited by the federal government, wanting to intimidate me into silence,” she said.

“And so I think that instead of investigating medical institutions and organizations — in my case, a hospital — for wrongdoing and for illegal activity, the federal government was weaponized to come after people exposing crime and whistleblowers like me,” she said.

“And so that’s egregious. It’s something I never imagined in a million years would happen to me,” she added.

Sivadge said she also fears that the political weaponization of federal agencies against people of faith will continue under a potential Kamala Harris administration.

“I believe that the Department of Justice has been weaponized against people of faith and people who expose wrongdoing and illegal activity — not just in my case, but in many others,” she said. “And so I am deeply concerned that if she gets elected, nothing will change in that regard.”

Sivadge presented her case to CP in the context of spiritual warfare, and she suggested she fulfilled her duty as a Christian by exposing wrongdoing.

“Ephesians 5 says to have nothing to do with the worthless deeds of evil and darkness but instead expose them, and that everything exposed by the light becomes visible,” Sivadge told CP.

“So that was really the foundation and the motivation for me to do what I’ve done, to speak out like I have.”

“Because we have, I believe, a responsibility as Christians to bring to light what’s been done in the darkness,” she added.

Even so, Sivadge said that she has “absolutely” sensed God’s presence in her situation.
“Not just that, but I’ve felt tremendous support from the people of God,” she said, adding that “people in the community who have reached out, have sent so many messages, have donated to my GiveSendGo, have ultimately made me feel like I’m doing the right thing, no matter what comes down the pike.”

“And that’s ultimately the greatest encouragement that I receive, is from people who have donated and who have prayed for me,” she added.

Sivadge’s GiveSendGo has raised nearly $50,000 of its $500,000 goal as of early Monday morning.
