Franklin Graham Warns Christians About Bank Accounts: ‘Every Demon in Hell… Turned Loose’

Evangelist Franklin Graham issued a major warning about persecution against Christians in America. It came during his keynote address at the opening session of the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) convention being held through Thursday in Orlando, Florida.
Graham warned the audience of Christian media organizations and ministry professionals to be prepared for the “coming storm” against Christians.
“I believe there is a coming storm that we all need to be ready for,” he said. “The world has deteriorated so quickly. It seems like every demon in Hell has been turned loose. We cannot be deceived and we can’t be fooled. We need to get ready and be prepared.”
Graham, 70, serves as president and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian relief and evangelism organization that he has helmed since 1979. He also heads the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, a position he has held since 2001.
During his speech, the son of the late evangelist Billy Graham encouraged the audience to stand firm on the Gospel and refuse to compromise on the Bible’s teachings.
“We are living in a cancel culture that wants to destroy Christian organizations. They want us to shut our mouths. They don’t want to hear from us,” Graham warned.
The evangelist urged Christian organizations to prepare to defend themselves against the growing cancel culture in business, insurance, banking, and technology. He challenged them to continue sharing the hope of Jesus Christ in the face of increasingly difficult circumstances.
Graham said any organization sharing the Christian message could be targeted and canceled by financial institutions and big tech. As CBN News has reported, there have already been multiple cases of banks ousting Christian ministries or big-tech de-platforming Christians.
“Now, if you don’t preach the Gospel, you don’t have anything to worry about,” he said. “If you’re not going to talk about sin, you don’t have anything to worry about. But if you’re going to try to preach and proclaim the Gospel, they’re going to try to shut you up.”
But he said Christian communicators are called by God to keep telling the Gospel message “the way it is” no matter what may happen.
“When you try to tell a person they are a sinner, it’s offensive. When you tell someone that Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life, and there is no way to heaven or God except through Him, you offend people,” Graham continued. “Just tell it the way it is.”
“Preach—don’t back up. Don’t make excuses,” he said. “We cannot back up. We can’t retreat. Don’t apologize for the Gospel—just declare it, just preach it.”
The CEO of the BGEA reminded the audience to be prepared for what’s coming next. Graham recalled the New Testament’s John 15:18-19, where Jesus says, “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.”
“Just don’t sit there on your hands and let the storm hit. And then have this look on your face like I didn’t know that was coming. I didn’t see that coming. You’d better see it coming. The world hates us, and Jesus told us the world hated me first and they’re going to hate you,” he noted. “If you stand for Christ, the world hates you.
Graham just completed a six-city preaching tour in Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. Beginning June 3, he will preach in Seoul, South Korea, on the 50th anniversary of his father Billy Graham’s historic outreach which more than one million people attended.
The NRB is a nonpartisan, international association of Christian communicators whose member organizations represent millions of listeners, viewers, and readers. The next convention will be held February 20-23, 2024, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, Nashville, TN.

Archaeologists discover ‘very rare’ ancient inscription paraphrasing Psalm 86

Archaeologists from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem recently reported that an ancient inscription paraphrasing the first two verses of Psalm 86 was uncovered from a remote site in the Judean desert of Israel.
According to a statement from the university, the four-week excavation project in the Hyrcania Fortress occurred in May, spearheaded by Oren Gutfeld and Michal Haber of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in cooperation with Carson-Newman University and American Veterans Archaeological Recovery.
In the “pilot” season for the excavation, efforts were centered on two key areas of the fortress. In the southeast corner of the summit, a segment of a prominent upper fortification line was uncovered, dating to approximately the first or second century B.C. In the northeast corner, archeologists removed a deep layer of building stones that collapsed from the upper floor into an elongated basement hall.
A sizeable building stone lying on the plastered floor of the hall features lines of text painted in red with a cross at the top. The inscription was written in Koine Greek, the language the New Testament was written in.
The text was deciphered by epigraphist Dr. Avner Ecker of Bar-Ilan University, who says it is a paraphrase of Psalms 86: 1–2, also known as a “prayer of David.”
“Jesus Christ, guard me, for I am poor and needy,” the inscription reads.
The first two verses of Psalm 86 state, “Hear me, Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. Guard my life, for I am faithful to you,” according to the New International Version.
Ecker said that Psalm 86 “is one of the most common psalms in the Christian liturgy in ancient times.”
“This psalm holds a special place in the Masoretic text as a designated prayer and is notably one of the most frequently recited psalms in Christian liturgy,” Ecker said in a statement. “Thus, the monk drew a graffito of a cross onto the wall, accompanied by a prayer with which he was very familiar.”
Gutfeld, a university teaching fellow, told The Washington Times that the discovery is the first time he can recall a phrase from the Psalms inscribed on a huge building stone.
“It’s very, very rare — a unique something [that’s] bigger than the inscription itself,” Gutfeld added.
Ecker said that “syntax errors made in the transcription” indicate that the writer of the lines “did not speak Greek as his mother tongue, but was a native of the area, perhaps even a local, and spoke a Semitic language.”
Researchers discovered another inscription at the site, but it has not yet been deciphered.
In the rubble of the excavation site, a small gold ring that appears to be child-like in size was uncovered. It has an oval turquoise stone engraved with Arabic Kufic script.
Another Arabic epigraphy expert was called to the scene to analyze the ring.
Nitzan Amitai-Preiss from the Hebrew University said a unique pattern in the script suggests the ring was also used as a seal.
“The script style is indicative of the early Islamic period, during the Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphates in the 7th and 8th centuries A.D.,” Amitai-Preiss said in a statement shared by the university.
In a joint statement, Haber and Gutfeld warned that “our excavations will draw the attention of looters.”
“The problem persists; it was here before us and will likely continue after us, underscoring the need for academic excavation — particularly in such a sensitive site as Hyrcania, though this is just one example. We are simply trying to stay a few steps ahead,” researchers reported.

100 Dead, 150 Injured As Fire Breaks Out At Christian Wedding In Iraq

The regional rescue service office told Iraqi media that fireworks led to a fire inside the wedding hall, trapping over 700 guests and causing part of the hall’s ceiling to collapse.
A fire that raced through a hall hosting a Christian wedding in northern Iraq killed at least 100 people and injured 150 others, authorities said Wednesday, warning the death toll could rise higher. The fire ripped through a large events hall in the north-eastern region after fireworks were lit during the celebration, local civil defence said, according to Iraq media.
The regional rescue service office told Iraqi media that fireworks led to a fire inside the wedding hall, trapping over 700 guests and causing part of the hall’s ceiling to collapse.
Television footage showed flames rushing over the wedding hall as the fire took hold. In the blaze’s aftermath, only charred metal and debris could be seen as people walked through the scene of the fire, the only light coming from television cameras and the lights of onlookers’ mobile phones.
Health Ministry spokesman Saif al-Badr gave the casualty figure via the state-run Iraqi News Agency. “All efforts are being made to provide relief to those affected by the unfortunate accident,” al-Badr said.
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani ordered an investigation into the fire and asked the country’s Interior and Health officials to provide relief, his office said in a statement online.
